Motivational Art in the Office.
In today’s business environment, motivational art has quickly become the darling of entrepreneurs. Why? Simply because it works! In short, motivational art posters/prints are photographs or drawings that carry an inspirational message that corroborates the picture. Therefore, they make the perfect office wall décor. Not only do they add some esthetics to the room but surrounding yourself with motivational art will help inspire you and boost productivity.
Here are 5 power tips when buying inspirational posters online:
(1) It does not matter having more than 1 inspirational print in your room. You can have as many as you want, as long as you don’t end up cluttering your wall.
(2) Every motivational artwork will deeply influence your mood. Therefore, try to find a print that not only serves as a good office décor, but also as a therapy during hard times. For example, if you procrastinate a lot, find an artwork with a compelling statement about procrastination. This will motivate you to stop procrastinating and finally get the job done.
(3) Never ever try to decorate your wall with bare posters. They look cheap and sweetly degrade your whole office décor. Remember that motivational art is nothing short of art! Always either laminate your artwork or frame it for a better coup-d’oeil. It is also good to mention that you should only buy from companies that have an in-house framing and laminating service.
(4) Place your artwork in a strategic position where you will often come to have eye contact with it. Do not place it in your back unless you have a good reason for doing it, as in if you receive people in your office and want them to peep at it while talking to you. (…) This helps create a friendly atmosphere and puts people at ease. You might also want to place a few in your waiting room if you have one.
(5) As far as possible, purchase “art prints” instead of “posters”. Motivational art prints are printed on a higher paper grade and does not degrade easily in time. Posters are, well, just the contrary.
As simple as it might seem, the right inspiring words can make a real difference to the right person. Whatever is your objective in business or real-life, motivation is a key factor to success and having a motivational print on your wall is the first step to success.
Scents Bring Inspiration For Writing
Inspirational writing is a part and parcel of the art of writing. Inspiration is indeed needed for writing. Without any inspiration, it is quite difficult to get ideas and thoughts to write. This is more so for articles or written matter that is more dependent on imagination, than facts. So follow these tips to get some hints on the secret of inspirational writing!
Whenever you feel stressed out or blocked while writing, it is most important to perhaps go for a short break or have a change of scenery. This helps a lot as the mind feels diverted, and refreshed, to start afresh on your writing, and thus produce inspirations for your writing! If you have the habit of typing your first drafts, it is better to hand write them for a change. Feel the difference once the ink of the pen melts into the paper while you let your creativity flow! Inspiration abounds here.
If you feel too stressed or tired of writing, flip through magazines and books. This is because the colors and ideas found in the magazines provide inspiration to spark your attitude. The colors blue and green greatly reduce your stress levels by thirty percent or more, and thus provide scope for inspirational writing. Aromatherapy is great for providing inspirations to you. To do this, you have to add strong scents to the room with lightly scented candles or perhaps take a stroll down to a store that is heavily scented. Or else, find an orange or strawberry, and smell it. The smell is certain to bring about a change in your mood and trigger inspiration in you. All this is possible because smells have always been known to awaken the creativity in you and also trigger memories of stories from the past. These old stories can provide the base for your new stories!
For real life inspiration, you may also try seeing or renting an inspirational movie during your relaxation time. Take a notebook along too if required to record the inspirational phrases in the movie. You can then later pen down thoughts related to these inspirational phrases. Reading poetry is also known to help spark creativity in you. The rhymes and wordings kindle memories and inspiration for the author in you. Reading books too help in this way. It’s hard to believe, but just looking at bold and bright colors for a few minutes too provides the necessary inspiration for you to write! This is because these colors change your mood, and thus makes you more relaxed to think up something to write upon. Change your vibration energy by doing something to switch yourself into high gear. Try taking a shower, going for a walk or turning on the music and dancing naked for a while! All these movements are sure to give you some inspiration to think of and to write about.
Talking with friends about the topic you are writing about also brings out some inspiration in you as it helps in fleshing out ideas and creativity in you. You could perhaps record your conversation, with their permission, and then play it back later to check the nuances that you may have missed. If you have no close friends near you, you could always write an email to your friend, wherever he is, to tell him /her what exactly you intend to accomplish. And that you are stuck and need some inspiration for moving on in your writing. You are sure to get an answer for the email, to help you in your writing. If you have the financial capacity, you could always get a virtual assistant to do the typing for you so that you are free to draw inspiration from the surroundings to continue your writing. You could perhaps fax your writing, or dictate the matter into the computer and then send the voice file for transcription.
God always provides us with inspiration in whatever we do. So to rekindle this inspiration, it is quite beneficial to go to the church for the noon service and whisper a prayer or two. You are sure to feel your energy reconnected with the universe to help you replenish whatever it is that might be missing. Keeping the thought of being grateful for whatever it is that you have, and not for what you are missing, gives you inspiration too. This is because you learn to appreciate what you have, and don’t feel dejected. Dejection tends to lead to depression, and depression, means no completion of your writing! Laugh, and the world laughs, it is often said. And how true it is. Some authentic, raw laughter really frees the psyche, to start the inspiration and creativity wheel moving!
If you are used to writing in a quiet place, make a change and go to a noisy place, like McDonald’s to write. This is because once the place is noisy, you tend to need more concentration and inspiration to go on with the writing process. On the contrary, going for a long, quiet and leisurely drive while listening to your favorite CD too helps to provide inspiration. Sing out of tune, for the sake of relaxing, and see how much inspired you can get! Use your creativity, and your inspiration, to produce a piece of writing that is very much interesting and beneficial for all to read!

Christian Sympathy Gifts
Death is universal, but accepting the loss of a loved one is the most difficult thing in the world. Although comforting words from friends and family can soothe a grieving heart, many find that their belief in God and His sayings can bring ultimate peace and help heal the pain.
Christian sympathy gifts like a Bible, rosary, angel candle, collection of quotes based on God’s tender reassurance and compassion, or music CDs composed to bless the grieving Christian’s heart can comfort the mourner and remind the family of God’s presence. Some unique Christian sympathy gifts are an angel of remembrance figurine, inspirational books designed to encourage and uplift the bereaved, memorial candles, pewter crosses and memorial photo frames engraved with scriptures. Another unique Christian sympathy gift one can present to a grieving family is an angel pin that a distressed family can cherish for many years.
Some of the best sympathy gifts can be an inscribed passage from the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes, reminding us of the eternal cycle of life or lithographic prints of a traditional Irish Blessing or the timeless prayer for Serenity. Some of the inspirational books like In the Arms of God, Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief, Chicken Soup for the Grieving Soul, When God Doesn’t Make Sense, and Mourning & Mitzvah also make fitting bereavement gifts. A wide variety of inspirational Christian artwork also makes perfect gifts to bring comfort to those who are grieving.
Christian sympathy gifts not only bring comfort to your friend or loved one as they grieve, but also confirm their faith in God. Words of compassion paired with a comforting book based on Bible scripture indeed heals and provides faith to a mourner, and he would also feel your prayers each time he uses these heartfelt gifts.
Inspirational Thought For The Day
Are you ready for your inspirational thought for the day? When you first read it, it may seem too simple. However, if you think about it for even a moment, you’ll see that the implications are profound – and inspiring. This is t:
"Whatever goals you have in your life, and no matter where you are start, someone has succeeded at something similar or even more difficult, starting with less than you have."
There may be some of you out of the six billion on the planet for whom this doesn’t apply. Perhaps some really want to do things that are far beyond anything a man or woman has ever done, so I apologize to the fifty of you. As for the rest of you, what do you want?
Want a loving partner? Somebody less attractive, charming and intelligent than you is getting happily married somewhere today. Want to create a new food and successfully market it? You probably already have more resources than Harlan Sanders had when he started trying to sell his Kentucky Fried Chicken. Want a big beautiful home? Three or more people in your town have such a home after being poorer than you at some point in their lives.
<b>Is This An Inspirational Thought?</b>
Anthony Hopkin’s character, in the movie "The Edge," says "What one man can do, another can do." He goes on to kill the bear that is stalking him. What if you aren’t as strong, as rich, or as smart as others? Not all those who have done great things were always stronger, smarter and richer than you. Just like them, you can learn the right things, take the right actions and put in the effort. This is why this is an inspirational thought. See where some people started from, and you’ll find yourself saying, "Hey! If he can do it, I can too."
I told a guy he could save money to buy a home, and he claimed he just didn’t have any extra to save. He forget that he already knew several people who were making less money than him and surviving just fine. If he lived like those people for a while, couldn’t he bank the difference? (Just say yes – finding reasons why you can’t do something is a terrible habit to encourage.)
Would you like a date for this Friday? How? Here’s a clue: An awkward young man asked a woman friend why he couldn’t get a date. She asked if he had asked anyone out. After he thought about it for a moment he said, "No." "That’s why," she told him. Better example: I know a jerk who always had a date – after asking twenty women a week out. These are lessons, aren’t they? If a geek and a jerk can get a date, you can too, right?
Colonel Sanders drove around in an old van living off his social security check as 900 restaurants told him they were not interested in his recipe. One eventually said yes, and he eventually made millions of dollars. Maybe this could inspire us to try something more than three times?
People come here with little money and speaking little English and end up owning restaurants and stores. If you want to own a restaurant or store, find out how they do it. There are almost three million millionaires in the U.S. If you really want millions, read their stories, talk to them, and learn how to make money. Whatever you want to do, someone has done it, starting from a worse situation than yours. If they can do it, you can too. This is your inspirational thought for the day.
Discover Four Reasons Why Inspirational Poems Are Just Irresistible
It was just after noon when the young President’s limousine made its way into a depository. He had stopped twice to shake hands with some nuns and school children. Suddenly, shots were fired; and at 1 p.m. President Kennedy was proclaimed dead.
Overnight, the number of inspirational poetry written about the president and the assassination that were received by the press could make up a few volumes of books. The question is, why poetry? Why not other forms of writing? What do you gain from writing or even reading one?
Let’s discover why poems are just irresistible during time of confusion and hardships.
It makes you feel better inside.
When we experience difficult time in our lives, sometimes we say that words just couldn’t express our feeling. That’s exactly right – if we’re trying to write a sentence or article. But not poems. It gives you freedom to write in fragments. It let your emotions out, freely and easily.
If you look at some of the most famous poets, inspirational verses that they write are almost related to their personal grief or difficult situation they experience.
Let’s take Helen Rice. Well known as the “poet laureate of inspirational verses” and famous for her motivational words, Helen Rice was writing those word of strength for her own self as well as for her readers. Those verses were written during the Great Depression when her rich young husband lost all his fortune in the stock market crash. Mounting debts forced Helen to work while her jobless and depressed husband lived in isolation and later committed suicide.
Her motivational and inspiring verses are words written not only to sooth the hearts of her readers but also to let go off the hardship that she felt inside. It was only through poems that she could channeled her voice during the hard time. Those poems actually made her feel good inside.
Inspirational poems give you hope and faith
If you know any ex-soldiers who had been to war, I’d like to ask you a favor. Go and talk to any one of them. And ask them if they knew any poems. You’d be surprised if they tell you that they memorize several and had written a few.
Prisoners of wars (POW) are known to memorized poems or write one during their hard time in war camps. Apart from religious verses, poetry is another form of written words that could give them hope. It keeps their faith and more importantly their sanity!
US prisoner of war at Vietnam was known to pass along a poem called Invictus by Earnest Henley for morale boost. Meaning “unconquerable”, the poem begins like this,
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
When you’re deprived from the freedom of outside world and contact with your fellow colleague is limited, you need motivational words to strengthen your wills. Poems like Invictus are just what the doctor ordered.
It Heals Aching Hearts
Nowadays, poems are being used in a few hospitals around the world as a form of therapy. Similar to art therapy, the aim is to make patients feel more open in expressing their feelings. “Difficult” patients were said to be more approachable and showed improved attitude when they were enrolled in such programs.
Poetry therapy is a form of therapy to help heals aching hearts. It helps you get rid off burden from your chest. Overall, it makes you feel better!
Poems Touches Your Heart
Can you tell me how many essays touch your heart? Yes, there might be a few that makes you wept but they are hardly memorable! But it’s a different thing with poems. It’s easily memorable and makes you want top pass it along to friends.
I give you an example. Have you heard the poem called “An Interview With God”? This classic poem had touched the hearts of millions of people. The owner of a website that created a presentation of the poem had been able to distribute this poem to millions of people around the world just by word of mouth. The reason is simple – it touches people’s heart. The impact of the poem is so incredible that the site owner made multimillion dollars from products derived from the poem.
Okay, I understand your problem. Some poems may make you dizzy, left you mentally tired and leaves nothing but a confused brain and tied tongue. But not all poems are like that. Most inspirational poems by poets like Edgar Guest, Ella Wheeler Wilcox and Helen Rice are easily readable but still carry strong impact and have deep message embedded in them.
Unlike an essay where you have to be concern about your grammar and paragraph, you can just express yourself freely with poems because it’s just like your heart’s intimate diary. If you can’t write one, just read one. At this internet age, a quick search and a click of a button at the search engine is all you need to get an inspirational poem in a snap. So, tarry no more. Let’s go and read one right now!
Psychologists believe that our capacity as human beings depends on what our minds truly believe to be possible. “It’s all in the mind”, as they say. In order to show how simple this idea is, a concrete example may serve to illustrate it. Two students, without their knowledge, were subjected to an experiment. Both were of the same grade level, age, and nationality. They were instructed to take a long jump activity as part of a physical education class. Girl 2 was shorter than girl 1. It was expected that the shorter girl would initially feel hopeless because of the obvious size advantage of the other girl so, without receiving any motivation inspiring words from her coach, trial 1 was allowed to begin. As was expected from trail 1, the shorter girl lost by a distance of around 5 inches.
Trial 2 followed immediately after trial 1. With some proper coaching and motivational words this time, the shorter girl won by 1.5 inches! How did this happen? It happened because the power of belief and attitude. What happened exactly was that an explanation about the height advantage of the girl was re-contextualized for the shorter girl. She was told that she actually had an even advantage with the taller girl because of her lighter weight. When she saw the taller girl as being “heavier” than her, it was enough motivation to inspire the shorter girl to focus on her own strengths and to use them to win. It’s all in the way you look at it.
Inspirational words can totally change the direction of our lives. We often see life as a scary place with dangers around every corner. We may not even recognize the fact that many of our fears are hidden inside us and controlling us at every turn. Others, on the other hand, may see life as a series of opportunities to challenge themselves because they have overcome these hidden fears and opened themselves up to a world of extra energy that was also hidden inside them but covered and stifled by the fears that surrounded it. It doesn’t take a major change in many cases to alter the direction of your ship. One small turn on the wheel can eventually result in a completely different section of the globe that you will sail to! As soon as you change one of your coordinates, the direction of your entire life will also change. You will begin to see everything around you as reflecting of this new change and it will provide you with even more inspiration to try even greater things.
Inspirational words can really be found everywhere. It’s just a matter of being able to see them. From our homes, our schools to our workplace, there are opportunities to find inspirational words. From the movies we watch, the books we read, the music we listen to and the people we talk to every single day of our lives, we can be inspired to do great things. These are words, which may just be simple words, can hit the deepest part of our souls and awaken us to be reminded of the true essence of who we are. From there we will find ourselves capable of living our lives more peacefully and more harmoniously with others.
Next time you think about where you want to find some inspirational words, just look inside yourself and ask yourself what’s stopping you from picking up one of the thousands of books out there that teach the most simple truths of all. What’s holding you back from making a commitment to read just five or ten pages a day to improve your life? The inspiration is deep inside yourself and the words that you are looking for outside are only a means to help you find that place inside that you already had to begin with. The greatest inspirational words there are those that will come right out of your own heart and mind. They will be the ones that bring you to make a change and to reach for the stars.

Art Competition Paints Picture of Cancer
A cancer diagnosis brings out many emotions that cannot always be expressed through words alone. Art, however, can bring them to life in a powerful way.
An international competition is giving cancer patients, survivors, their families, physicians and others affected by cancer a chance to share their experiences and inspire others through art. Entries for "Lilly Oncology on Canvas: Expressions of a Cancer Journey" are being accepted through July 31. This is the second contest presented by Eli Lilly and Co., in partnership with the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship.
"People affected by cancer experience a range of complex emotions, which are often difficult to express," said Dr. Richard Gaynor, vice president of cancer research for Lilly. "Lilly Oncology on Canvas helps to give these emotions a voice, one that has resonance and meaning."
Contestants are invited to submit original works of art in the following categories: oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, photography and other (one-dimensional) art. A narrative explaining the artist’s "journey" with cancer should accompany the artwork.
Winners will be notified in the fall of 2006. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the cancer charities of their choice. All art entered in the competition will be displayed for public viewing at the Royal College of Art in Kensington Gore in London. The international panel of judges comprises cancer survivors, oncologists, journalists, cancer advocates and artists.
More than 400 pieces of art from 23 countries were entered in the first Lilly Oncology on Canvas competition. The collection continues to travel the world.
"Lilly Oncology on Canvas brings us all closer to the heart of the cancer journey, enabling those who view the exhibit to experience the range of emotions that cancer survivors or those who care for them experience, and find hope in their inspirational artworks," said Ellen Stovall, president and chief executive officer of the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship.
